Chris Harms is approaching his fifth year as editor of Brisbane street press and website
Rave Magazine. He has been involved with music and the media since the early 1990s, and has maintained a parallel role as a professional DJ for over ten years.
His career moves have included print media analysis for Media Monitors, production stints at Queensland Newspapers, directorial and conceptual work for music videos, freelance editing for hobby magazines and travel books, published writings in Rolling Stone and street magazines Beat and The Brag, and experience as a promoter for electronica, hip-hop and indie rock shows featuring national and international artists.
His formative years were spent reading the NME, Melody Maker and X-Men comics, leading to a debatable belief that ordinary people can do extraordinary things given the right circumstances. Just don’t get him started on his theories about the common ground between pop musicians, superheroes and people suffering from arrested development.
