Presenter Announcement: Dan Cameron

Dan Cameron (Danck) is one-third of Brisbane promoters Dank Morass. Since early 2007, the Morass has brought leading artists from the evolving global left-leaning electronic bass music movement to Brisbane, taking in the LA-anchored hip hop inspired music of Flying Lotus, Samiyam, Lorn, The Gaslamp Killer and Blu and Exile, and the UK dubstep scene, including trailblazers Digital Mystikz, Loefah and Zed Bias, and the new guard of Joker, Starkey and Excision. Dan has worked for three years in publicity and marketing for an independent Australian music distributor and written for local and national independent music press, including Cyclic Defrost, Stealth, Rave and Scene.

Held 11-12 June 2011 at The Edge in Brisbane’s South Bank precinct, UnConvention Brisbane 2011 will comprise forum discussions, workshops and networking events focussed around creating sustainable careers within the local independent music industry.

UnConvenion Brisbane is a not-for-profit, grassroots-led music conference for independent musicians, promoters, labels, entrepreneurs, writers, technologists, innovators and artists. The goal of UnConvention Brisbane is to bring together like-minded individuals to discuss the future of independent music and how it will develop and flourish in the technological age.
