Presenter Announcement: Matt Hickey

Matt Hickey is co-editor of whothehell.net, a leading Australian music blog that works to uncover and promote new Australian music. He is also a freelance journalist for publications such as JMag, The Music Network and The Vine amongst others and hobbyist music producer.

Matt is currently undertaking his Masters in Digital Design, inspired by his attempts to run a successful blog without knowing how to actually get large files onto said blog. He's now aware of something called FTP and can do it pretty easily.

Held 11-12 June 2011 at The Edge in Brisbane’s South Bank precinct, UnConvention Brisbane 2011 will comprise forum discussions, workshops and networking events focussed around creating sustainable careers within the local independent music industry.

UnConvenion Brisbane is a not-for-profit, grassroots-led music conference for independent musicians, promoters, labels, entrepreneurs, writers, technologists, innovators and artists. The goal of UnConvention Brisbane is to bring together like-minded individuals to discuss the future of independent music and how it will develop and flourish in the technological age.
