Presenter Announcement – Sam Grace
Sam brings a sympathetic ear and a sense of adventure to every project. He prides himself on professionalism, integrity and an easygoing approach. He has been working in the audio engineering field for 6 years after completing a degree (with distinction) in sound design at QUT. He now teaches music production at Albert Park Flexible Learning Centre to secondary school students and is actively involved as a live musician.
Sam is also renowned in Australia for his production, particularly for Hip-hop artists under the moniker Sammsonite. His production has earned high-rotation on Triple J and airplay on MTV and [V] music channels. He is also an integral member of Brisbane’s accomplished hip-hop group - The Optimen. He produced, recorded and rapped on their single ‘Give it Up’ which won ‘Best Urban Artist’ at the Music Oz awards in 2006. Through his independent label, Red Tape Entertainment, he has signed, recorded and produced multiple artists who have become well-established in Brisbane’s burgeoning music scene. Sam has quite a distinguished history in Sound Design for Film, and has had multiple nominations for Short Films at the BIFF and QNFA Film Awards. His specialty is sound design, ADR and has been the principal sound recordist on PFTC and QPix short films.
