Presenter Announcement – Steve Bell

Having made the ludicrously easy decision to vacate his former vocation as a solicitor, Steve Bell became involved in Brisbane street press at Time Off magazine way back in the year 2000.

Since beginning as a freelance writer Steve has conducted over 1,000 interviews, and once he realised that he’d nearly exhausted the supply of interesting people to annoy with inane questions he moved into the editorial side of the publication to start irritating a whole new group of industry folk.

Steve also spent many years (poorly) managing several Brisbane bands (Giants Of Science, Iron On, Intercooler), ran independent record label Rhythm Ace Records (home to Rollerball, Giants Of Science, Screamfeeder, Intercooler and many more fine local acts), spent many a year flogging CDs at Skinnys and probably sold you your favourite band t-shirt.

Steve's passion for the Brisbane music scene (and music in general) is nearly equal to his zeal for the St Kilda Football Club and The Simpsons (with the emphasis on nearly). His dream is to one day appear on Mastermind (although that show may now be defunct) with his specialist subject being the rock band Pavement.
